Set with an emerald-cut aquamarine weighing approximately 33.00 carats, to a cluster surmount composed of baguette, marquise-shaped, circular- and old mine-cut diamonds together weighing approximately 2.00 carats, anchored by a cushion-shaped old mine-cut diamond weighing approximately 1.60 carats, mounted in platinum, signed and numbered 15607.
Condition
Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the aquamarine is of medium to medium strong, sky blue colour, very clean to both naked eyes and loupe check. Under 10x loupe, there only a few nicks along facet junctions which commensurate with its age. The old-mine cut diamond to the bottom weighs approximately 1.60 carats, of about L colour and I1 clarity with a cavity at a corner. Other old-cut diamonds are probably of H to J colours, VS to SI clarity. Signed VCA NY and numbered.
Condition: The largest old-mine cut diamond is slight loose in the setting, which a service is recommended after sale. Soldering mark to the back that the brooch fitting is probably later added. The brooch comes with a clasp fitting to the top, which not seen to the obverse. All these signs show that this brooch may originally be a detachable pendant from a necklace. Minor scratches and abrasions to the mount, otherwise in good condition.
