Description

Designed as seven graduated palmettes, each centring on a pear-shaped diamond in a cut-down collet, highlighted with circular-, single and rose-cut diamonds, to a back chain millegrain-set with circular- and single-cut diamonds, composed of elongated octagonal links alternating with three collet-set diamonds, 1920s,

Condition

Metal tested as platinum. The seven palmettes probably originally formed a tiara and numbered 1-7. All palmette motifs can be detached, the central ornament may be detached and worn as a brooch, later pin fitting, screw driver deficient. Principal pear-shaped diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 2.85, 2.00, 2.10, 0.70, 0.85, 0.95 and 0.70 carats, of mixed colours from G-H to J, SI clarity on average. Remaining stones estimated to weigh approximately 20.00 - 25.00 carats, of mixed colours and clarities. Diamonds in chain estimated to weigh approximately 3.00 carats, bright, lively stones, chain originally part of a sautoir see lot 366, with original screw threads. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use and age. In good condition.
