Please refer to the Important Notices page 217 in the Day Sale catalogue, regarding import of rubies into the US. Stamped 750 for gold. Maker's marks for Darde & Fils's workshop who worked with Herz-Belperron from 1955 to 1970. The cabochon sapphire is gauged to weigh approximately 39.00 carats, as gauged in the mount. Some typical crystal inclusions and wear to the surface of the stone noticeable to the naked eye but not disctracting when worn. Rubies with a pinkish red hue, good saturation of colour, well matched on the whole, typical cyrstal inclusions, one stone chipped noticeable under close inspection. Signs of normal wear to the gold, scratches consistent with wear, in good condition.
