Sapphire and diamond ring, Van Cleef & Arpels

Of bombé form, set with a cabochon sapphire within a surround of brilliant-cut diamonds, mounted in yellow gold, size 51, signed Van Cleef & Arpels and numbered, French assay and maker's marks.

Stamped 750 for gold and numbered 20548. Total diamond weight approximately 4.00 carats, overall G-I colour, VS-SI clarity. Bright and lively stones. Sapphire measuring approximately 10.36 x 10.63 x 7.76mm, estimated to weigh approximately 4.70 carats. Of a deep blue hue with good saturation of colour, typical crystal inclusions noticeable with the aid of a 10x lens. Signs of normal wear to the gold, scratches consistent with use, in good condition.
