Description

  • Plaques approximately 62.83 x 40.88 x 8.09 and 47.70 x 31.56 x 10.71mm respectively; pendants on stick-pins approximately 17.92 x 9.04 x 6.57 and 21.26 x 9.26 x 5.80mm respectively; cabochon on stick-pin approximately 13.66 x 5.89mm.
Comprising: a translucent jadeite plaque of celadon tone with bright and dark green splashes, carved with bamboo shoots and leaves on both sides, and an exotic bird with long curling feathers; another jadeite plaque of translucent milky tone with dark green and honey yellow patches, carved with a deer and a bat, strung on a cord with a translucent pink tourmaline bead; two carved jadeite stick-pins, each suspending a translucent bright green jadeite pendant carved as a fish with weeds from a jadeite hoop, mounted in 18 karat yellow gold; two stick-pins, one with an old mine-cut diamond suspending a cabochon ruby, and the other set with a translucent bright green carved round jadeite cabochon, mounted in 14 karat yellow gold; and a pair of cufflinks, each set with a highly translucent rich green round jadeite cabochon within a stylized square frame, mounted in 18 karat gold. (6)

Condition

Colour and Clarity: The two carved pendants are nicely carved, one with the auspicious theme of "fu lu shou", with natural inclusions and clouds visible under strong penlight. The pair of jadeite pendants on stick pins are of bright green colour and finely carved as fish amongst seaweeds. The jadeite cabochon on the pin is bright green colour with good translucency and the cabochon ruby is of rich raspberry pink colour with natural inclusions. The old mine-cut diamond is about G to H colour, SI clarity. Cabochons on cufflinks are translucent apple green colour with natural inclusions visible under strong penlight. Condition: Interesting group of period jadeite jewellery. Overall in good condition.
