Description

Set with a cushion-shaped ruby weighing 2.48 carats, amid a frame and a basket micro pavé-set with brilliant-cut diamonds extending throughout the shank, mounted in platinum.
Condition
Colour and Clarity: The centre ruby is accompanied by a AGTA report, which states the ruby is natural, of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating. Please refer to the report for details. In our opinion, the ruby is of medium to medium dark, intense red colour, eye clean. Under 10x loupe, a few tiny nicks along facet edges and girdles. There is minor silk under the table and a few crystal inclusions, which do not block the brilliance of the ruby and not seen to naked eyes. Diamonds are probably of F to G colours, VS clarity.
Condition: Eternity ring setting can not be sized. Very delicate ring mount, in very good condition.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
