Condition
This painting has quite recently been restored and looks well. The canvas has an old glue lining which nicely stabilizes the surface. The paint layer has been cleaned, varnished and retouched.
Under ultraviolet light there are retouches visible in a spot at the top of the tree in the upper left corner, in two or three spots in the tree as it extends over the sunset, in the meadow in the foreground, around the extreme edges on the right side and to a lesser degree on the other sides. The original paint reads quite darkly in a few places in the trees and elsewhere, yet most of this is not retouch. Overall the painting is in very good condition.
