Condition
The wood panel is bowed. The edges of the canvas mounted on the wood are all uneven. Under ultraviolet light there appears to be an opaque varnish and significant inpainting along all edges and in the corners especially the entire upper left quadrant with the largest area of retouching measuring 3 by 1 in. There is also a 5 in. horizontal line of inpainting extending from the center left edge with significant retouching to the upper right corner and the top of the right edge. There are also scattered lines of retouching measuring approximately 1 in. each and dots of inpainting throughout the work. The surface appears to be in stable condition.
