Condition

This painting on canvas has been mounted onto masonite. Unfortunately, this mounting is not entirely successful and should be reexamined as it is becoming un-adhered in many areas. The paint layer is clean and varnished, and from a distance looks well. The only real restoration addresses what may have been the reason for mounting this picture in the first place, which is a fairly complex tear in the mountain and in the lower sky in the upper right. The restoration here is serviceable yet if the canvas were to be removed from the board, the restoration can be reexamined. Other than this, the paint layer is fresh and well-preserved.
