Condition

The canvas is unlined and well stretched. Under ultraviolet light there is an opaque varnish. There appears to be inpainting throughout the work most extensively along the right edge including the entire upper right corner and a 2 in. spot in the center of the right edge. There are also several 4-5 in. lines of inpainting in the upper left corner and a 1 in. spot along the upper edge on the left. There is additional inpainting along the entire bottom edge and a few spots in the center figure's torso. There is paint loss to the work but most of the areas have been retouched. The surface appears to be in stable condition.
