Condition
1) The 17th Century Nepalese manuscript, 115 pages with wooden covers, gold on black paper with 12 illustrations interspersed throughout the manuscript, mostly protected by a paper veil. In generally good condition, but with wear and tear throughout. The text and illustrations legible but more wear to the title page and illustration than the rest of the text. All pages uneven undulations from natural shrinkage, some with worn holes and most with wear to edges and corners. Pages not necessarily in correct order. The wooden covers with rich patina. Accumulation of ritual puja powder on the upper cover. Binding holes in covers and pages.
2) The 12th/13th century Pala Palm leaf manuscript with wooden covers, written in black with some later annotations. 72 pages all with worn corners and edges. Many with worn holes and wear to the binding holes. The first and last pages written only on one side, the rest of the manuscript inscribes on both sides. The Indian wood cover with deep Puja accretion on outer surface. Fine Buddhist Deities painted on the inner surface. All with considerable damage. A later binding string containing the manuscript and covers.
