The finely carved and gilded upper manuscript cover depicting the four-armed Prajnaparamita seated in vajraparyankasana on a throne with prabhamandala, with thrones either side, Shakyamuni Buddha to the left and Vairochana to the right, set in a foliate background filled with deities, further deities interspersed in borders of petals and foliage, both ends carved and decorated, the back painted red with a panel of text in black on gold at the center.

Condition
Good condition. The gilding rubbed overall with use, especially on raised areas. On the reverse the red paint is rubbed in places and a panel of script in the center is in good condition. Two modern hooks for hanging are screwed into the back.
