The present group of illustrations feature Nitya Devis, a group of fifteen Tantric Goddesses who represent the lunar cycle of the moon, and together comprise the Kalachakra or Wheel of Time. Each Goddess has her attendant energies or Shaktis which help the practitioner combat and dispel various negative forces and afflictions.



Pictured above are Vahnivasini Nitya, dweller in the fire who devours the Universe, clad in fiery yellow robes, along with the multi-headed Kulasundari Nitya who combines the Knower, Knowledge and the Object of Knowledge within her being. Also included in the group are the Nitya Devis Tripureshvari and Vahnivasini.

Condition

Both illustrated paintings in very good condition with no discernible paint loss and very minor staining. One of the unillustrated paintings in similarly good condition. The last painting with two small areas of loss but in the background areas and not disturbing the principal subject. No restoration.
