Description

  • Heights: Shiva: 19 1/2 in (49.5 cm), Parvati: 16 1/2 in (42 cm)
Both figures stand in a frontal position, Shiva displays the crescent moon in his headdress, a third eye on his forehead, his hair is arranged in three long braids, he is four-armed, wearing an elaborate belt, jewelry and an upavita formed by a cobra. Parvati wears a heavily patterned dhoti secured by an elaborate girdle, a pointed crown, jewelry and long, billowing scarves, she holds a lotus in her left hand. Both figures have inlaid eyes and an inscription around the lower register of the lotus base.
