Catalogue Note

According to The Henry Moore Foundation, this work is probably page seven from Upright Sketchbook 1942 (see: Ann Garrould, ed., Henry Moore, Complete Drawings, 1940-49, vol. lll, Much Hadham, 2001, pp. 144 & 145). "Although all the known drawings of the sketchbook are horizontal it is numbered upper right on the recto and upper left on the verso in vertical format... The recto is interesting in that it provides the sketches for two larger drawings, these are HMF 2268 and HMF 2385." This drawing is provisionally numbered HMF 2024a.
