Catalogue Note
In 1919, Pablo Picasso was commissioned to create the costumes and the decor of Le Tricorne, a ballet created by La Compagnie des Ballets russes and directed by Serge de Diaghilev.
Danseur dans les Ballets Russes is one of the studies the artist used for this creative project and is probably a sketch for the make-up of Corregidor, one of the dancers.
