Catalogue Note

signed 'MR' (lower left), numbered '7/9' (lower right) and dedicacted 'Per il piccolo (un giorno grande), glauco, con simpatia del tuo amico Luciano, Torino, 17/7/1974' (on the back), silver-plated knife and fork, wooden beads and cord netting assemblage mounted on a cloth-covered base in a wooden box. Executed in 1973 in an edition of nine examples plus four artist's proofs after the original object of 1944. The origin of this object is the title of a book Mr Knife and Miss Fork by the poet René Crevel, published in 1931.
