Condition
The canvas is unlined. There is a faint stretcher mark running horizontally in the centre of the composition with an associated minor hollow. There are some areas of shrinkage to the dark pigments.There is a 2 x 2 mm paintloss in the dress of the figure. There are 4 areas of retouching in the lower part of the composition: a 2 x 3 cm one on the right and four 2 x 1 cm on the left. There are two minor old inpaintings on the head of the figure and two further small areas in the upper part of the painting. The work is in stable condition.
