  • diameter 33mm.
• nickel lever movement, bi-metallic compensation balance, 23 jewels, micrometer regulator, eight adjustments • silvered dial, applied gold Arabic and baton indexes, two subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds and 30-minute register, two outer chapter rings calibrated for 60 units and tachometer scale • 18k gold circular case, two rectangular chronograph pushers to the band, downturned lugs, snap back • case, dial and movement signed • with an 18k gold Patek Philippe buckle 

Condition

The movement is running, however it may require service soon. Both chronograph pushers function correctly. The dial has been washed at some point and has a vertical brushed finish, and the hard enamel on the signature, subsidiary dials and outer chapter rings is very prominent. There are a few very small spots throughout the dial. The gold indexes and hands have aged and show some oxidation. The case has been polished and the band and case back have brushed finishes. The crown has been replaced and bears a Calatrava cross. There is some oxidation to the innermost part of the bezel. The strap of this wristwatch is made from an endangered species; please refer to Important Notices for further information.

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming production in 1947 and sale on March 15th, 1949.

Ref. 533 was manufactured over the course of two decades, with production commencing in 1937. Its closest relative in the Patek Philippe chronograph family is Ref. 130, from which it differs primarily in its flat bezel.

Our research indicates that the present example is one of approximately 40 examples in yellow gold to have returned to the market through auction.
