This model, Ref. 3941, was produced alongside Ref. 3940. The two models are identical in design and function, the only exception being that all examples from Ref. 3941 were fitted with a sapphire crystal display back, whereas Ref. 3940 bears a solid case back. Like Ref. 3940, it was produced in two series, which are distinguished by the leap year indicator. The present example belongs to the first series of production, as indicated by its uncrossed leap year indicator.

For another variation on Ref. 3940, Ref. 3945, see lot 213.
