The movement is running, however it may require service soon. The mother-of-pearl is in very nice condition. The gold numerals have aged. The case is in lightly polished condition with some light scuffs. The PPC stamp on the pendant is very crisp and legible.

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming production with mother-of-pearl dial and applied dauphine numerals in 1921 and sale on April 28th, 1924.

It is interesting to note the unusual location of the signature on the present lot. Rather than the more typical location below 12 o'clock, 'Patek Philippe & Cie, Genève' is printed along the upper border of the subsidiary seconds on this lot, a space commonly reserved for the retailer's signature. From time to time, the firm was able to move their signature at the request of a client, which was likely the case for the present lot.

According to our research, the present example is one of approximately ten similarly styled watches with mother-of-pearl dials. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time the present lot has been offered at auction.
