  • diameter 38mm.
• cal. 1570 nickel lever movement, mono-metallic compensation balance, 26 jewels, adjusted to five positions and temperatures • black dial, luminescent dagger and baton indexes, luminescent hands, sweep center seconds, faded orange arrow-form hand corresponding to 24-hour indication on bezel • tonneau water-resistant-type case, bezel calibrated for 24 hours, screw-down crown with protective shoulders, downturned lugs, screw back • case, dial and movement signed • with a stainless steel Rolex Oyster flip-lock bracelet

Condition

The movement is running however it might soon need to be cleaned and serviced. It is stamped D149601. The dial is clean and nice with almost no visible signs of age. The secondary hour hand has aged to a yellowish-white color as catalogued. The luminescent paint to the numerals has aged and discolored consistantly throughout. The case shows general wear and scuffs to the sides and back. The inside of the back is stamped 1665 and the numbers between the lugs are 1665 and 3982261.

It is important to note how aged and faded the secondary hour hand is on this watch, compared with the hand on the previous lot. These hands left the Rolex factory with a reddish hand that over time would typically fade to orange. Some, such as the present lot, would fade even farther, until that hand is light yellow or nearly white. Collectors refer to these models as 'Albinos'.
