- width 19mm., overall length 220mm., maximum length to be secured by both clasps 160mm.
• cal. 49C nickel lever movement, 15 jewels • two-tone silvered dial, bullet indexes, blued steel sword hands • 18k gold circular case set within 18k gold wide braided motif bracelet, secured by hinged diamond-set buckle, the pointed terminal can be reversed to expose the dial or fastened by the second gold hinged clasp to conceal the dial • case hand-stamped with Cartier numbers, dial and movement signed
Condition
A very lovely and rare piece. The movement is running, however it may require service soon. It is numbered 014030. The dial has few spots or marks on it. The case back shows some light scuffs and is very clearly numbered 141797 and more faintly, 014030. The gold mark is very clear and the case is further stamped EJ for Edmund Jaeger. The bracelet is in nice condition. At the diamond-set clasp it is marked with both an eagle's head for gold and a dog's head for platinum, suggesting that the diamonds are set within platinum at the clasp. Overall a very attractive piece both as an item of jewelry and an unusual Cartier timepiece.
