Condition
The movement is running on the day of the cataloguing. The dial is in excellent condition, although the hands and the baton numeral at 10 o'clock show signs of light oxidation. The case is in good condition with good definition and the hallmarks are clear and visible. Only a few scuffs to the left-hand side of the bezel, case and bracelet appear to have been repolished.

Accompanied by a Certificate of Origin and an Extract from the Archives confirming production in 1982 and sale on October 12th 1988, a leather folder, instructions, a wooden presentation case, outer card box, spare links and original Patek Philippe tag.
Reference 3800 was manufactured from 1981 to 2006 in a variety of styles. The model has now been replaced by Reference 5800.
The first Nautilus timepiece to start the collection appeared in 1976 and was created by the watch designer Gerald Genta. The design of the sporty Nautilus was inspired by sea vessels and their portholes in particular. Rapidly the Nautilus became the embodiment of a powerful and casually elegant timekeeping design that would later become an iconic model in Patek Philippe's collection.
