The history of the Portuguese collection dates back to 1936 when two merchants from Portugal by the name of Rodrigues and Texeira, paid a visit to the International Watchmaking Company situated in a small town of Switzerland called Schaffhausen. Despite the trend, at the time, for small wristwatches, the two ordered timepieces that would be as large as a marine chronometer. The main explanation was that Rodrigues and Texeira wanted watches that would be easy to read and, at the same time, highly reliable.
