Catalogue Note
The unusual Mercator mechanism was developed in collaboration with Belgian enamellers Lucie and Jean Genbrugge. The case of this timepiece was inspired by the shapes of Vacheron Constantin wristwatches from the late 1940s. Different enamel dials were made for the Mercator, representing the Continents and inspired by original maps by the famous cartographer and humanist Gerard Mercator.
