Condition

Automatic movement running and calendar advancing while cataloguing. Dial is clean and looks good. Case with light minor scuffs throughout, but this can be polished. Hallmarks are clear. Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a Certificate of Origin dated 1994, as well as an Extract from the Archives confirming production in 1994 and sale on May 31st, the same year.  Together with a maroon leather folder, an automatic winding presentation box, setting pin and a spare 18k yellow gold case back.

Patek Philippe launched Reference 5040 in 1992 and the model was made in two series. The first series began with movement number 770000 and the second series was numbered from 3120000. In addition, the first series features a sunken leap year indicator whilst in the second series it is both sunken and crossed.
