• 13''' jewelled gilt cylinder movement, precision regulator, 18k gold cuvette • white enamel dial, Roman numerals, blued steel Breguet hands • 18k gold case engraved with guilloché pattern, the back cover ornamented with blue enamel, diamond-set monogram 'W P' in the centre with crown on the top • case and cuvette numbered, cuvette signed 'Invention & Exécution de Patek Philippe & Co, Genève'

Condition

Movement running, all functions appear fully operational while cataloguing. Enamel dial with two screws at 3 and 9, a small dent at 9, otherwise in good condition. Case back with blue enamel, some scuffs, slightly damaged on the right bottom side and upper left part. The watch is a very rare and interesting example of early stem winding watch by Patek Philippe with an aristocratic provenance.

Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming production in 1857 and sale on October 16th, 1858.

This watch is very particular for it was made only a few years before the final evolution of Adrien Philippe's stem-winding, which was patented in 1861.
