- A very rare silver and gilt oval verge astronomical watch with indications for date, month, moon-phases and signs of the zodiaccirca 1620
- length including bow 74 mm
• gilt brass full plate verge movement signed C Piron further engraved AB, turned baluster pillars, fusee and gut line, plain steel two-arm balance, pinned balance cock, wheel and click set up • gilt dial engraved with birds and foliage, silver chapter ring with Roman numerals, silver chapter ring for date, inner silver gilt ring engraved with indications for the months, signs of the zodiac and seasons, fan form sector for days of the week, twin Omega shaped aperture for ages and phases of the moon • large silver oval case, the front cover with engraved monogram under a crown and with the letters MDL, bordered by engraved scrolling decoration, the case back centred by the sun and with similar scroll borders, the band engraved with a table showing the rising and setting of the sun throughout the year, tulip pendant with loose ring, the inside of case and covers plain

Condition
Movement running slowly, adjustments for the calendar functions are recommended for full service. Very interesting table for month and solar indication on the band. A very rare and complicated watch from that period.
