Condition
Movement running while cataloguing, slight discoloration towards the outer edge of the dial, some light scuffing to case and back due to wear, case back with inscription "Florence to Clayton April 26-1951.''

Catalogue Note
Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming production in 1949 and sale on December 2nd of the same year.
Reference 425 was produced from 1934 to 1960. It has then been replaced with the larger Reference 2461. Reference 425 is called "tegolino" which means little tile, in Italian. It remains one of Patek Philippe's most popular "shaped" watches. The case of the present lot was made for Patek Philippe by Markowski, the specialized case maker for shaped watches, such as Reference 2441, 2442, and 2554.
