Catalogue Note
Together with an 18k pink gold Patek Philippe buckle and an Extract from the Archives confirming production in 1954 and sale on July 30th, 1955.
Reference 2526, produced from 1953 to 1960, was the first self-winding wristwatch made by Patek Philippe. The majority of the reference were sold with enamel dials and applied gold lapidated indexes. The dial of the current lot is exceptionally rare with its cominbation arabic and baton numerals which lend the watch a unique style when compared to the standard production pieces. It is interesting to note that the combination arabic/baton dials are rarer than the already scarce black dial examples of reference 2526.
