Catalogue Note
Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming production in 1952 and sale on October 23rd the same year.
Production of reference 2442 started in 1948 and ceased around 1960. Research shows that approximately 60 examples were made in pink gold of which only 21 have been identified back onto the market. It remains one of the rarest and most exclusive rectangular models by Patek Philippe and is favoured by collectors for its iconic curvaceous form. A similar watch is illustrated in Huber, M. & Banbery, A., Patek Philippe Wristwatches, Second Edition, p.136, pl.193.
