Condition
The movement is running, all functions appear fully operational while cataloguing. Dial in very good condition. Case with small signs of wear. A rare and very attractive model.

Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated 2005 within a maroon leather folder, an automatic winding presentation case, outer card box and instruction manual.
Reference 5040 was launched in 1992, the current lot is from the second series, production of which began around 1999. So far 16 other examples of ref.5040 have been offered for sale at auction of which 8 are from the second series. This is the first time that the current watch has been offered at auction. An example of reference 5040 and calibre 240 Q is illustrated in Huber, M., Banbery, A., Patek Philippe, Second Edition, p.295.
