1986 Penn State University National Championship 10K Gold Ring

In 1987 the #2 Penn State Nittany Lions capped off their undefeated season to win the National Championship with an upset win over previously unbeaten #1 powerhouse Miami in the 1987 Fiesta Bowl. While Miami boasted future Pro Bowlers Testaverde and Irwin, the Lions were a nondescript lunchpail bunch.  However they ground out a 14-10 victory, thanks largely to 7 Hurricanes turnovers. Blue stones form a number one in the center of a football on top with "National Champions" above and below. Right side has the name "McDonald" above Fiesta Bowl logo with "Penn State - 14  Miami - 10  Jan. 2  1987" at the bottom. Left side has "Penn State"  the school logo  12-0-0  and the number 92 inside of a small football. Inside of ring is stamped "Balfour 10K". Ring is size 11. The stones are synthetic. Excellent overall condition with minor wear from use.
