Catalogue Note

The present work is most likely a scene of the New South Wales coastline, probably to the south of Sydney.  It bears resemblance to a group of paintings Penleigh Boyd completed in the 1920s when he was travelling in and around Sydney.  While Boyd usually chose titles that would evoke moods or sensations based upon natural effects, the title of the present work has been chosen given current evidence.
We are most grateful to Rodney James for his assistance in cataloguing this work.
