The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. Although the tacking edges of this painting have been reinforced, the painting itself does not appear to have been lined. The paint layer is possibly slightly dirty and the varnish is a little dull. There are no retouches of any note visible to the surface, except on the upper right edge and in two or three spots in the sky. Overall the picture is in lovely condition and could be hung as is.
