Condition
The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.
This panel is in very good state; it is flat and unreinforced. The paint layer is stable. A fresh varnish is all that is required to make this picture presentable. A few spots of retouch have been added in the lower left corner and around the profile of the knees and lower legs of the figure, yet the lighter colors and the bulk of the background seem to be almost completely unrestored.
