The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.
This oil on paper is in lovely state. It has been mounted in the way that one would mount a watercolor. The paint layer is stable and the paper is unbroken. Under ultraviolet light some strengthening in two of the berries in the lower left appears to have been applied, but it is also possible that some of the original paint reads darkly. Overall the condition is very good.
