  • A FAN, PROBABLY FRENCH, MID 18TH CENTURY
  • length 25.3 cm; 10 in.
with pierced and carved guards and sticks, the skin leaf painted with chinoiserie figures, fruit and flowers  

Condition

Both guards are split and re-glued at the lower club section. The leaf is split and pealing in several places. Old restoration has now discoloured. Fold creases have resulted in loss of pigment.
