Description

The white porcelain dial with blue and gilt Arabic numerals and gilt scroll hands,  within a hinged case decorated with a spray of poppies, the petals applied with rose and yellow translucent enamel, the centers accented with small single-cut diamonds, against a green enamel ground, supported on a gold brooch of scrolling foliage decorated with a similar flower and bud, dial signed Hamilton & Co., Calcutta. 

Condition

The movement is not signed. It is Swiss made, single barrel axle bridge pivot, 15 jewels, lever escapement, currently running. Please see conditions of sale for watches in the catalogue on page 272. There is a serial number 43077 - 5 under dial on movement top. No other information on back of dial or movement. Minor damage and loss to the enamel, but in good condition overall. The diamonds are of decorative quality. The colors of the enamel are more muted than indicated by the catalogue illustration.
