Catalogue Note

A similar bangle to the first in this lot is illustrated in Micromosaics, The Gilbert Collection, by Jeanette Hanisee Gabriel, p. 252, no. 188. The scene of Aurora is after the ceiling fresco by Guido Reni n the Pallavicini-Rospigliosi Palace in the Piazza Monte Cavallo, Rome. Another example is found in Understanding Jewellery, David Bennett and Daniela Mascetti, p. 192, pl. 287.
