Description

The oval carnelian cameo depicting the profile bust of a woman in neo-classical style wearing a crescent-shaped hair ornament and wheat sheaf in her hair, possibly representing the goddess Hera (Juno), within a gold frame accented with twisted wire and opaque white enamel, the reverse with a glazed photo compartment, reverse of cameo with partly legible signature.

Condition

The brooch has been restored on the back at the top. The cameo has nice carving detail, the enamel is intact and the piece is in good condition overall. There is a photograph on the reverse in a glazed compartment.
