The hinged rectangular box engine-turned in a woven pattern, the sides outlined in calibré-cut sapphires, the thumbpiece set with a baguette sapphire, weighing approximately 104 dwts., 3 by 2¼ inches, signed Cartier, numbered 63545 and 04185, French assay marks, 1 sapphire missing; together with a cigarette case and matching compact of white and pink metal, circa 1930, the sides decorated with panels of black onyx, 5 by 3 inches and 3½ by 3 inches respectively, both stamped Evans, one onyx segment missing.  Compact not illustrated. 

Condition

The GOLD BOX is tarnished and 1 sapphire is missing. Signed Cartier on inner lip and numbered 63545 and 04185. The COMPACT is missing one side onyx segment, it has a fitted mirror. CIGARETTE BOX is pocked where the pink metal has worn away. All pieces show signs of usual wear from use.
