14 karat gold, ruby and diamond flower brooch, Cartier, circa 1940

The domed flowerhead centering a cluster of round rubies bordered by single-cut diamonds, completed by tiered petals of polished gold, signed Cartier. 

Mounting is stamped 14K. The Cartier signature appears on the pin bridge, there is also part of a serial number that is not clearly struck and difficult to read on the top of the pin bridge. Rubies are a medium deep red and are moderately included, a few small surface-reaching inclusions. Diamonds are approximately H-I color and VS clarity.
