Description

The first watch with rectangular dial, black Roman numerals and blued steel hands, framed by rose-cut and baguette diamonds weighing approximately 1.25 carats, mounted in platinum and 18 karat gold, completed by 14 karat white gold mesh straps, length 6½ inches, dial signed Cartier, movement by European Watch & Clock Co., Inc.;  the second watch with circular dial, black Arabic numerals and blued steel hands, the bezel and lugs set with old European-cut and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 1.00 carat, mounted in platinum, completed by a gray grosgrain ribbon strap with 18 karat white gold clasp, adjustable length, movement by C.H. Meylan; the navette-shaped brooch decorated with a spray of florettes, set with 80 old European-cut and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 2.00 carats, mounted in platinum. 

Condition

All pieces are in good general condition with surface wear to the metal. The Cartier watch is presently running, manual movement by European Watch & Clock Co., Inc., original to the piece, numbered 431432, the case is numbered 431432 and 24936B on the outside. Diamonds are of decorative quality Minor discoloration to dial. The second watch has a manual movement, presently running, signed C.H. Meylan. The inner case back is signed A.W.C. Co. 205250. Diamonds are of decorative quality. Grosgrain ribbon band is soiled, but intact. Both movements could use cleaning and overhaul. See conditions of sale regarding watches on page 272 of the catalogue. Diamonds in the brooch are approximately G-I color and VS-SI clarity. It likely dates from 1935-40.
