Description
The long chain of collet-set diamonds supporting a pair of openwork pendants, the domed caps and surmounts designed as flowers and bows, accented with small round cabochon rubies, calibré-cut rubies and 2 small round emeralds, anchored by 2 briolette diamond drops weighing approximately 2.40 carats, the whole further set with 78 old European-cut diamonds weighing approximately 10.40 carats and numerous smaller old European-cut, single-cut and rose-cut diamonds weighing approximately 7.25 carats, mounted in platinum, length 29 inches, pendants detachable. Together with a pair of diamond earstuds to which the pendants may be attached.
Condition
The chain and one of the pendants appear to be period (circa 1900) while the other pendant would appear to be a later addition. The ear studs (not pictured) are set with 2 old European-cut diamonds weighing approximately .60 carat; approximately I-J color, VS clarity. The pendants may be suspended from them. Diamonds are L-M color and VS-SI clarity overall. The clasp is set with a marquise-shaped diamond weighing .25 carat. The length mentioned (29") does not include the pendants. In good condition overall.
