Description
The pendant composed of a pierced jade plaque carved with flowers and studded with small old European-cut diamonds, within an onyx frame of conforming shape, surmounted by a triangular-shaped old-mine diamond, joined to a platinum mesh necklace accented with seed pearls, onyx beads and small old European-cut diamonds, total length 24½ inches, back segment detaches to shorten to 17 inches.
Condition
Good condition. The chain is circa 1915, the pendant appears to be a later addition. The seed pearls are silvery white; the diamonds are near colorless and decorative in quality. The translucent carved jade plaque is a medium slightly bluish green with significant white veining. Of the two clasps, one opens easily, the other is presently very stiff and might benefit from the attention of a jeweler.
