Description

The emerald-cut emerald weighing approximately 5.00 carats set atop an octagonal dome pavé-set with 76 round diamonds weighing approximately 5.75 carats, mounted in 18 karat gold, size 7.

Condition

In good general condition. The emerald is a lively medium bluish green with moderate, eye-visible inclusions. The diamonds are approximately G-H-I color with some I-J examples and VS-SI clarity with some I examples. The shank shows evidence of sizing as well as some discoloration to the underside of the shake's exterior but not apparent when worn. Minor splitting to the gold on one shoulder's interior (not evident from the exterior and not impacting durability).
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
