Description

The case decorated with fine red and gold lacquer work depicting an Oriental landscape and embellished to the centre with a cabochon ruby, the sliding panels opening to reveal a square dial applied with Arabic numerals, signed Movado, Chronometre, ERMETO to the dial, numbered to reverse.

Condition

PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT GUARANTEE WATCH MOVEMENTS Stamped 0935 for silver, French assay mark for silver, numbered 1195165, Swiss Made, Patent Par Suisse, Argent Dore to reverse. Not running at time of cataloguing. Self winding mechanism not working. Stiff to open and close. Glass with traces of dirt, watch face scratched, could benefit from a professional clean. Laquer work with light scratches consistent with age and wear. Cabochon ruby a light purplish (pinkish) red, cavity and typical surface inclusions visible with magnification. In good condition.
