Description

Each designed as a blackamoor, the first with a head of carved amber, the turban and tunic set with pearls and cultured pearls, circular-cut rubies and brilliant-cut diamonds, signed Nardi; the second brooch of similar design set with circular-cut rubies, emeralds and a cabochon coral.

Condition

Gem-set blackamoor brooch signed 750 for 18 carat gold and Nardi to reverse. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 1.25-1.35 carats, included stones on average. Rubies well matched in bodycolour, moderate saturation of colour. Typical inclusions visible under x10 magnification. Cultured pearls and pearls well matched in bodycolour, some with rosé overtones and pitting. One small pearl cracked. Considerable tarnishing to metal surfaces. In overall good condition. Blackamoor brooch stamped 750 for 18 carat gold to reverse. Emeralds of very slight saturation of colour, considerable abrasions to table facets. Rubies well matched in bodycolour, moderate saturation of colour, abrasions and surface reaching inclusions to table facets. Typical inclusions to coloured stones visible under x10 magnification. Considerable oxidization visible to face. In overall good condition.
